Hills faced a tricky first game of the season against a very strong Tondu side. Many of the Tondu XI are playng for their county. Tondu captain Ross Nicholson won the toss and chose to field 1st.

Hills sent out skipper Matthew Davies and Christian Davies to open the batting with Matthew to fall first after being caught off the bowling of Bradley. Davies and new batsman to the crease Callum Lee put on some resistance with a stand of 38 before Lee fell to Parry for 22. Parry then found another 2 quick wickets of opener Davies and Tom Bowen. Parry then clained his 4 victim of Harry Baber for 4 and Dafydd Jones also fell for 4 after being bowled by David Matthews.

With Hills' youngsters being 67-5, they lost 5 wickets for zero runs as the tail were poor with Luke Gardner, Lloyd Jones, Lewis Gough and Blaine Webber all picking up ducks, whilst Nathan Lewis was last man standing. Parry was the pick of the away bowlers with figures 5-10 (3.1 overs)

Tondu's reply in chasing 68 got off to a stuttered start when some good fielding took the wicket of David Matthews. Skipper Matthew Davies opening the bowling for the home side picked up his first thanks to a good catch from Callum Lee. Things looked good for Hills when Tondu were 13-2 but Ross Nicholson got settled and started to attack the Hills bowlers and got his way to an unbeaten 35. Hills showed a bit of a comeback when all-rounder Dafydd Jones clean bowled Tatchell but Parry saw his side home to a 7 wicket victory.
